Point goes off screen -- how do I grab it again?

Hi

Such a basic question, and I’m sure it’s in one of the tutorials, but it’s early in the morning and I thought I’d ask here

I’m tracking an object – and the tracking goes off the top of the screen. I seem to be only able to zoom 100 percent – and I can’t see – or grab the point that is off screen. How do I get to those points so I can re-position them during the tracking process.

As I wait for an answer I’ll recheck the tutorials  Perhaps someone can provide a link to a tutorial that includes this “issue”.

Here’s a link to a screen capture…

Thanks!

Hi Rowby,

Go back to point before the object goes out.

Zoom out by holding down the Z key and dragging with left mouse button.

Select all vetices and reposition or resize the tracking area.

This will create a keyframe for the tracking area (but won’t affect the tracking data)

hope this helps

You can also use manual tracking to get an object offscreen: http://www.imagineersystems.com/videos/quick-tip-manual-track/

Manual track will also get you past occlusions.

Or you can track a similarly moving object while the track goes offscreen and then move back to your object when it comes back on screen.

Please let us know if you have any more questions and we will be happy to help you.

Cheers,
Mary
