Exporting Shapes to Shake - Motor_v1.1.0b4 (with / without Mofex plugin)

Excellent ! I like it very much

Excellent ! I like it very much

*Exporting Shapes to Shake (with Mofex plugin):
*
Export shape data: File / Save Shape Data / Shake Roto Script

Tick the SSF option to export the contour as an SSF file, as opposed to an XML file. (Mofex will read the either SSF or XML file.)

If Mofex is not installed the a “Missing Macro” warning appears.

The script contains a Contour Node and a Stablize Node. The Contour contains the Layer data from Motor and the Stablize Node contains the Tracking data from Motor.

Contour Node = Spline from Motor
Stabilize Node = Tracking from Motor

*NOTE!!! *The Stablize Node is incorrectly set to Match, it has to be set to Stablize.

*Exporting Shapes to Shake (without Mofex plugin):
*
Export shape data: File / Save Shape Data / Shake Roto Script

If Mofex is not installed the SSF option must be selected!!

Unfortunately the .shk script that is exported only works properly with Mofex.

  • The work around for those that do not have Mofex:*

  • Open / add the script to Shake and replace the Contour Node with a Shake Roto Node.
(short cut hold down cmd and clic on the Contour Node)

  • Load the SSF contour using - Import Shape Data from file (button next to Edit Shape mode, bottom of the viewer.)

*Using the ‘Copy to Clipboard’ option:
*Shake 4.1 will not accept the data as is, in order to paste to Shake 4.1 do not copy the first couple of comment lines, starting with an #.

Example:

Shake Shape Export by Imagineer Systems

Exported range corresponds to file numbers 16-25 in the original clip

Image dimensions 720x576

*Exporting Motion Blur:
*At present (Motor_v1.1.0b4 ) it is not possible to export the motion blur.

The suggested route is to either render mattes from Motor or add motion blur in Shake.

Alternative, manually add motion blur in Motor using edge offsets - as edge offsets can be exported.
